The Palakkad Additional District Sessions Court has found Chenthamara, 61, guilty in the Nenmara twin-murder case.
The events pertaining to the case took place on 27 January 2025 when Chenthamara hacked to death his neighbhours Sudhakaran and the latter's mother Lakshmi.
Chenthamara committed the crime while he was out on bail for the murder of Sudhakaran's wife, Sajitha.
The verdict comes a year-and-a-half after the crime took place. The Court has found Chenthamara the sole person guilty of the crime.
The quantum of punishment will be declared by the Court on July 15.
The crime took place at Nenmara in Palakkad district. Chenthamara is a native of Pothundi, Palakkad.
On 27 January 2025, Chenthamara hacked to death his neighbhours Sudhakaran and his mother Lakshmi in what is believed to be an act of pre-meditated revenge.
Chenthamara did the crime while he was out on bail for the murder of Sudhakaran's wife, Sajitha in 2019. Chenthamara believed that Sajitha was responsible for the breakdown of his marriage.
On 31 August 2019, Chenthamara allegedley entered Sajitha's house and hacked her to death.
While out on bail for Sajitha's murder, Chenthamara committed the twin murders, killing her husband and his mother, Lakshmi.
Chenthamara expressed no remorse in court when found guilty of the twin-murders. An impassive Chenthamara stated that he is no Gandhi and that he has no problem in being hanged to death either.
